Anyone who eats food is a meal planner

You may fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants and plan tonight’s 6:00 family dinner at 5:45, which may result in a “fun” trip to the drive-through, but at some point you have to make a decision about what you and your family are going to eat, which may be something out of a microwavable tray, which is not a good meal plan.

Not a good meal plan tray

A bowl of cereal, a trip to the drive-through, or a trip to the microwave; these are the meals that happen when we practice flying-by-the-seat-of-our-pants-meal-planning, which is how my family survived before we started Plan to Eat.

We would often have a refrigerator that was completely empty, or it was full of food we couldn’t use. We hated grocery shopping because we would buy what we didn’t need while forgetting the things we did. Our “fun” and “spontaneous” meal plans, which actually lacked any form of a plan, landed us at restaurants more than we wanted. Our bank account suffered because eating out is expensive. Our health suffered because what we were eating was not good for us.

We needed a good meal planner, and out of this need Plan to Eat was born. Now we want to share it with you so that you don’t have to fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants-meal-plan anymore either.

What is Plan to Eat?

Plan to Eat is an online meal planner app that allows you to add and organize recipes, drag those recipes onto a calendar to plan them, and our software automatically creates your shopping list based on your planned recipes. By providing tools that streamline the meal planning process we equip households to eat better food, eat together, save money at the grocery store, and have a less stressful cooking experience in the kitchen.

Why we do what we do.

Our physical and emotional health is directly tied to what we eat, and the best way to ensure we are getting the highest quality food is to prepare it at home.

Without a system to organize recipes, plan menus, and compile shopping lists, our kitchens will lack the ingredients we need to prepare our meals.

Our hope is that Plan to Eat will equip you to prepare delicious, wholesome food at home that nourishes both body and soul.

How we work.

We are not a startup.

We are not trying to grow as fast as possible (by making our service free) so we can sell our customer base and move on to the next project.

We don't like ads.

Especially in the context of a web application like Plan to Eat.

We have intentionally chosen not to seek investors or borrow money

This gives us the freedom to focus on what is best for our customers and our own family.

We try to be very clear & up front about the cost of a Plan to Eat Subscription.

It’s $4.95/month or $39/year. We do not ask for credit card information before starting a 30 day trial. We do not want to “trick” you into paying us because you forgot to cancel. We offer a no-questions-asked refund policy. By default, we do not automatically bill you when your yearly subscription expires.

If your subscription expires...

We do not remove your account but instead suspend it so you can renew at any point.

We do not hold your recipes & information hostage.

You can always export all of your recipes, even after your subscription has expired.

We believe these ideas are just common sense.
They reflect our commitment to treating our customers the way we want to be treated.

Wow, that sounds like a great gift!

I love Plan to Eat, and it has totally changed my meal planning and grocery shopping. This was an area I hugely struggled before, and PTE has allowed me to succeed! I'm giving it as a Christmas gift to both of my sisters-in-law, since they are both new brides. I can only imagine how much easier things would have been if I'd had this tool as a newlywed. Thank you!

I've been searching for a platform like this that will basically do everything for me when it comes to meal planning. I'm a first time user and am absolutely in LOVE with this site. I can use my own recipes, EASILY import other site's recipes, it makes a shopping list for me, and the click and drag menu planner feature puts me right over the edge!! LOVE IT!!! Will definitely become a paying member. :)

I have been trying your site out for 5 minutes and I'm absolutely IN LOVE!!!! I'm a dietitian and love to use different recipes and plan our meals each week. Each week I'm searching different sources to find the recipes I want and making the meal plan/grocery list. Your site will keep it all in one place for me! I'm easily importing favorite recipes already! I've tried other websites that provide a weekly meal plan for you but never found that they quite fit what my family wanted/needed. Plan to Eat is perfect (sorry to say I didn't think of the idea myself or have the ability to create it)!

I don't like cooking, and I don't like shopping for food, so until lately I've eaten out - a lot. I've been working on eating more healthful meals, and this week I decided to make food at home using the recipes in a fitness book I've been using. I entered the recipes into Plan to Eat and planned which meals I'll eat for the rest of the week. Super simple, super fun. I went to the grocery store last night, and the app grouped all the things I needed to buy, making shopping painless. Making the recipes is even more fun, because the web app I installed (nice bookmark thing via Safari on iOS) guided me, step-by-step. Plan to Eat is helping me live a more healthful life. Thank you!
